Michelson Found Animals was founded in 2005 with a mission of saving pets and enriching lives. With more than $100 million committed to animal welfare, MFA seeks to reduce shelter euthanasia in Los Angeles and across the country.
It operates a range of initiatives, including providing grants and fostering partnerships that put resources in the hands of communities in need, carrying out research that promotes pet-inclusive housing policies, and more. In the 16 years since its launch, MFA has helped more than 8 million pets and their families.

๐พ On #WorldSpayDay, Michelson Found Animals, in partnership with the Robert & Erika Brunson Fund, launched a $150,000 Spay & Neuter Initiative (SNI) Accelerator Grant Program to expand access to care in Greater Los Angeles.
Beyond traditional grantmaking that funds surgeries, this program builds sustainable, scalable clinic infrastructure that addresses the root causes of shelter intake.
Through seed funding, mentorship, and a 6-month curriculum created with @open_door_vet_collective, grantees will strengthen high-quality, high-volume spay and neuter services across LA.
Together, weโre building a long-term network of providers committed to closing the access gap and keeping pets out of shelters.
