5 Pet Podcasts for Your Morning Commute
Okay, we know your true crime podcast has a special place in your heart, but pet podcasts are paw-some! Whether you’re on the bike at the gym, or stuck in traffic during your morning commute, podcasts about cats and dogs are a terrific way to kill time. They are also great for brushing up on your animal knowledge. Here are some of our favorite pet podcasts!
The Dog Trainer: Quick and Dirty Tips for Teaching and Caring for Your Pet
This podcast, available on iTunes, is aptly named. The Dog Trainer is indeed filled with quick and dirty tips related to dog ownership. As fellow pup parents, we know that there’s always more to learn on the subject of dog behavior. Luckily, this podcast makes learning all the more easier with quick, easily digestible content.
The Purrcast
The Purrcast is your destination for chatting about cats. Based in Los Angeles, Sara Iyer and Steven Ray Morris talk all things feline. They also speak with other cat enthusiasts about their favorite felines, because, well, cats can’t speak for themselves!
Vegas Rock Dog Radio
Want a little edge when getting your dog dose? Then you should try out Vegas Rock Dog Radio. Sam “The Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll Dogs” Ratcliffe-D’Arrigo broadcasts live directly from Las Vegas each week. We’re not quite sure what “rock ‘n’ roll dogs” are, but they sound awesome. This podcast isn’t your usual pet info listening experience either. Instead of focusing on behavior, dog food and other traditional topics, the host speaks about three of our favorite P words: pets, people and pop culture.
Cat Chat
Cat Chat, aside from being a magnificent name (we love a good rhyme!), is a podcast hosted by Tracie Hotchner. She pulls from her 7 years of experience producing and hosting the live call-in show of the same name on the Martha Stewart channel on SiriusXM radio. Expect information on cats, support for cat owners and on-air assistance from veterinarian Dr. Elizabeth Hodgkins.
Can I Pet Your Dog?
Can I Pet Your Dog? is a great dog podcast, hosted by Allegra Ringo and Renee Colvert, and produced by Travis McElroy. Each Tuesday, the two hosts interview guests about their pooches or talk about other dogs they know. They also go to various dog events and report back on what they see and learn. The podcast also features a segment called Mutt Minute, during which they spend 60 seconds talking about a certain dog breed.
