Creating Equal Access to Pet Care Careers

The Michelson Institute for Pet Professions (MIPP) creates equal access to pet care careers by providing skills training and job placement for individuals in underserved communities who have a passion for working with animals. Students accepted to MIPP receive a full scholarship from Michelson Found Animals (MFA) to obtain a professional certification in pet grooming and benefit from placement services upon graduation.    

Looking for a rewarding career working with pets? See if you qualify for our training assistance program in the dog grooming field! You must:

>>Qualify for funding with the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) (must have an identified disability of any kind – anxiety, depression, physical or intellectual disability, substance abuse, etc.)
>>Be 18 or older
>>Live in LA area/able to commute to assigned West Coast Grooming Academy location
>>Submit an MIPP application, resume, and personal statement of 250 words or less
>>Submit an application to the DOR for subsidized tuition funding

West Coast Grooming Academy

The mission of West Coast Grooming Academy is to help students and pet parents achieve their goals in pet grooming, whether it’s to seek employment as a professional groomer or to start their own businesses.  West Coast Grooming Academy has the knowledge and experience to help its students succeed in any capacity, whether in small business or in the corporate world!

West Coast Grooming Academy proudly gives back to the community by working with local animal rescue organizations and shelters to make shelter and rescue animals more adoptable through the  grooming services completed by West Coast Grooming Academy’s student groomers.
