Found Animals would like to thank everyone who attended the 2010 Found Animals Forum: Leading Perspectives in Animal Welfare! Our inaugural event brought nationally and internationally recognized leaders in animal welfare and their perspectives to the Los Angeles animal welfare community.

The program featured presentations and Q&A with animal welfare leaders from public and private organizations, recognized for their effective and collaborative approaches. Attendees of the Forum came from diverse backgrounds, including representatives from the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office and District Attorney’s Office, employees from several municipal sheltering agencies, plus independent non-profit animal welfare organizations and many others.

Our goals were to create a constructive, community building event, as well as offering an invaluable learning experience for the Los Angeles animal welfare community. According to feedback from the 150 attendees who joined us on a rainy Saturday, we achieved that goal! We carefully reviewed participant feedback forms and appreciate all of the input and suggestions. We were excited to discover:
  • 96% of participants learned something useful from the Forum
  • 85% of participants are "extremely likely" to attend a future Forum
  • Participants rated all of the speakers very highly
In addition, many participants requested access to the presentation materials used by our speakers – please see below for links to that information. We also got lots of great ideas for future Forum topics – so stay tuned for news about our next event.
