As a lead-in, to promote some of the animals available for adoption on Valentine’s Day, as well as to create public awareness about the many different types of animals that can be found at municipal shelters nationwide, Found Animals launched the Found Animals Cam, hosted by Ustream.tv It can be viewed 24/7 by visiting our website at www.foundanimals.org and following the “Cam” link on the main page. We kicked off the live streaming feature with seven adorable and playful kittens. Sleepy, Happy, Sneezy, Dopey, Bashful, Grumpy, and Doc who were nearly six weeks old. They were all adopted into new homes on Sunday, February 8, 2009. Our second set of viral “stars” are Puppy’s, which can be viewed live until the 14th when they will be available for adoption at SEAACA.

Due to public response and approximately 800,000 followers viewing our Kitty Cam within just over a few days, we’ve decided to make live streaming of shelter animals a continuous feature on our site! The “stars” will change every couple of weeks to highlight the wide variety of wonderful animals available at Los Angeles metro area shelters and as example for the many shelters across the country.
