It’s almost that time of year again…no I’m not talking about Christmas…I’m talking about our annual Winter Pet Adoption event! Every year, in the Spring and Winter, we hold the largest single day of pet adoptions in Los Angeles, and this year we have high hopes for Whisker Wonderland (how could you not with an awesome name like that?).

Whisker Wonderland is this Saturday and is happening at 17 animal shelter locations all over Los Angeles including our Adopt & Shop and Cat Adoption Center. The shelters will open their doors at 10am and we will be matchmaking adoptable animals and raising the roof ’til 5pm! Our goal is to get at least 500 pets adopted in 7 hours. Every adopter gets a free goody bag with toys, pet food, treats and other fun stuff as well as a free pet bed from Ortho Mattress. Even if you don’t adopt a pet, you’ll get a postcard voucher that you can redeem at Ortho for a free pet mattress to keep or donate to a needy animal at the shelter of your choice, just for showing up! Pets can make great gifts IF enough careful consideration and planning has been done beforehand. So if you’ve already decided to adopt a cat, kitten, dog, puppy, rabbit, guinea pig, chicken or any other kind of pet available at our L.A. Shelters  (all the puppies and kittens are patting you on the back and cheering), Whisker Wonderland has discounted pet adoption fees in addition to our 2 For You! Cat Adoption promotion – adopt 2 cats and we’ll pay the adoption fee for the second cat.

With 17 participating animal shelters and animal care centers throughout L.A., there’s sure to be a convenient location near you. Don’t let animal shelter myths deter you from visiting. They’ve come a long way and are nothing like the puppy pounds in the past. When you visit Whisker Wonderland this Saturday, December 17 you’ll see hundreds of incredibly cute and  healthy animals ready to come home and provide you with a lifetime of love.
