For the second year in a row, Found Animals attended and sponsored the BlogPaws Conference, which took place in Salt Lake City, Utah this year.

If you’ve never heard of BlogPaws, it’s an online social media community for all pet lovers and enthusiasts. There’s an abundance of pet bloggers and BlogPaws provides the perfect gathering place for them!

This year at the 2012 BlogPaws conference hundreds of pet experts gathered to learn from each other and share their experiences in pet blogging, projects, campaigns and more. We got to hear from guest speakers like Betsy Saul, who is the Co-founder of Petfinder.com, Kenn Bell, Creator/Executive Producer of Dog Files and the Animal Planet Special, “Hero Dogs of 9/11” (there wasn’t a dry eye when they played this amazing video about the 9/11 rescue dogs) and attend valuable workshops such as increasing traffic to your blog and harnessing the power of social media to create campaigns to help animals.

The pet social media conference was also a great place to find and try out new pet care products. As you may know from our previous blog it’s Shedding Season. Lucky for us, FURminator had a booth there and they were handing out free samples of their products. For all the cat lovers out there, a special Catification Lounge was set up by cat behaviorist Jackson Galaxy and Kate Benjamin from Moderncat featuring all of the latest and greatest cat products available.

A unique aspect of BlogPaws is that it’s a pet-friendly social media conference. My favorite part of the whole conference was getting to meet all the amazing pets that inspire all the pet bloggers in attendance.
